Just like your mum always told you — the best way to keep the cavities at bay is to brush and floss your teeth every day. Dentists actually recommend brushing twice daily to keep your pearly whites healthy and shiny. Always brush and floss at night, as bacteria can stew overnight. For your second daily dose, sneak into the ladies room at work with to-go flosses and toothbrushes.
Skimp on taking a swig of coffee followed by a sip of ice-cold water. Switching from one extreme to another can actually cause teeth to expand and create small cracks in your enamel. To keep teeth looking great, grab a straw to keep liquid away from teeth, or be sure to wait a few minutes between sips.
Staying hydrated not only leaves your skin with a healthy glow, but it also keeps your teeth looking great as well. Drinking a lot of H20 promotes healthy saliva production, which can help fight the nasty bacteria hoarding in your mouth. Tap water also often contains added natural fluoride, which is found in toothpastes and mouthwashes. So drink up!

Fruit and raw veggies can help with teeth cleaning, while calcium-enriched foods help to promote strong teeth. Stray away from sugary foods that can stick to teeth and cause cavities. But, if you just can’t resist, make sure to brush afterwards.
As gut-wrenching as it may be, visiting your dentist at least twice a year will help keep your pearly whites looking their best. Not only is it important to get your teeth cleaned, but your dentist and hygienist can also catch a cavity before it spreads to a root canal. Yikes!
